It is not often that a group of boys transforms into men right before our very eyes. That is what happened with the boys from Nivea, though. These boys, specifically speaking, were the guys from Ivory, F.C. What is Ivory and why should it matter to you? It was an Essex-based club that applied to be apart of the Great Football Experiment. Nivea helped to turn these random Sunday football boys into certified football men. The right preparation was at the heart of this experiment and it helped to turn these guys into something worth remembering.

You might wonder just how Nivea took these amateurs and turned them into big time winners? What was the preparation all about? It was all about getting Ivory the best possible coaching staff out there. Ray Wilkins and Terry Venables were brought in to see just what they could do with Ivory and a few months of preparation. They worked the players hard and the transformation was drastic. Ivory gained better fitness and a new idea on high skill. They worked as a team and became elite in a matter of months. Through proper preparation, the team became more than just a bunch of Sunday players.

The Nivea Great Football Experiment was about more than just improving a bunch of guys to play in their own league again. It was, instead, about giving those guys a chance to prove what they could do. At the end of the preparation period, Ivory took on a team of English football legends. They took on a club that had clearly proven itself over the long haul. At the start of the experiment, the idea of Ivory knocking off the legends seemed far-fetched. When the game rolled around, though, football glory was clearly within the reach of Ivory’s boys.

They became men on that field, as the Nivea-backed guys took down the legends by a two to one score. Ivory, F.C. came away winners and proved that with the right kind of preparation, almost anything is possible. Nivea proved its point and gave Ivory the opportunity of a lifetime.
